Wooden Benches for Your Garden

Few years back I was picking a garden bench for my yard and so I was scouting out for stores. One of them seemed particularly interesting because of the outdoor furniture salesman that was working there. He put his heart and soul in order to help me choose a suitable garden bench. At the end, since I was still indecisive he looked at me and said a funny thing: “There are no benches but wooden benches.” Now, few years later after buying and enjoying a wooden garden bench I can concur with him completely!
There are many reasons why do you need a place to sit in your garden, but one of the most prominent ones is definitely the one that says that if you don’t have a bench in your garden you’ll never sit and enjoy it. But if you do have a place to rest, then your green area becomes a sanctuary like you wouldn’t believe! Therefore, mark my words, every garden needs a place to sit, preferably a nice cozy wooden bench. I think you should disregard all arguments that state how wooden benches add a sense of peace and calm to the surrounding or how it puts garden elements together and should remember just this simple one.
To help you choose your place of rest and enjoyment I have listed a few quality, but still on a budget, wooden benches. You can buy them immediately if you like. You can also take a look at some of the bench cushions which can complement your setting even further. Bench pillows can additionally create a splash of color and make your piece of heaven even more delightful.

In my opinion, quality timber is a must with this type of furniture. Just think how exposed your wood bench will be to outer conditions: heavy rain, snow, burning sun, etc. With that in mind be sure to choose a durable and sturdy wood. You won’t make a mistake if you go with teak, mahogany (although it is more expensive) or cedar. Most of them are water resistant and will keep moisture from destroying the wood. You can even pick one with wrought iron elements. These finishings do balance the feel of wood and iron very nicely, which are completely different element that is hard to reconcile in patio settings. Many stores offer engraving services, which add more to the cost but still may be afforded. In turn you get a unique wooden bench that is a work of art.

Be sure to anticipate approximately how many people will use the bench, so you know how wide bench do you need. I usually like three seat versions, because they have enough space for one or two people to sit or three but still without fighting for room.

Another interesting option for wooden benches is the possibility of adding a roof. Many manufacturers sell roofs which can keep the excessive rain or sun out of the way. This will require more spending, but if that is your cup of tea, then please, go ahead. Thank you for reading, that was all for now. Have a great day!
